Having Fun

Image result for having fun

Ok, so far, being semi isolated from the world has not been too bad.  I have found so many things I need to do.  My goal is to concentrate on one 'big' item each day and complete that task.  This should make the next few weeks go by a bit faster.............I hope.

Today's task was taking all the recipes I had printed out over the past 10 years, and organize them.

Here I am, sorting them into categories.  This also helped me find duplicates of several recipes.  Being unorganized is the reason for the duplicates.

All organized and put into  sleeve protectors.  They are now in a three inch binder and separated by index tabs.  The tabs were put in, in alphabetical order, to make it even easier for me to find recipes. The 3" binder is packed full.  There is no more room for anymore recipes.  WOW!

Earlier today, I put the corned beef and cabbage in the crockpot.  It is now starting to make the house smell so good.  It will be so nice to have that for dinner tonight.  It is only made once a year at my house.  It makes so much and hubby and I are the only two that like it.

In other news, our daughter called last night to inform us her contract with the company she has been with for almost 18 months was cancelled.  She is not too upset about it and already has another interview lined up for next week.  When I heard the news I kind of got excited and thought "Maybe I don't need to make anymore white dishcloths".  WRONG!  She is still friends with several people at the office and will be staying in contact with them.  She still needs the wedding present.  (sigh)  I have 6 or 7 done now.  I can't remember as it was late last night when I put the last completed one on the stack.

Hubby decided to order Disney+ yesterday.  I am so glad he did.  We started watching The Mandalorian last night.  (I know, we are late to the party)  I am excited to start exploring to see what all it offers.  Our daughter loves it as do both of our sons and their families.

It is quiet again in the neighborhood.  The most excitement we have had is the garbage truck coming by and picking up our trash.  The next big excitement will be when the mail gets delivered.  Gotta give the dogs something to bark at!

We are expecting quite a bit of rain tomorrow.  Again.  All this rain has caused a big outcropping of weeds in our desert front yard.  Normally, we only have 1 or 2 weeds pop up in a months time.  Right now, there must be 40 or 50 of them out there.  Hubby is out with the weed killer now.  Hopefully this will be one of the last times for a while.  He has been out there almost every week for months.  We have had A LOT of rain this year.

And a little prayer

OK, guess I had better cast on another dishcloth and work a little on other WIPs.

Until next time.................happy crafting!

  1. Oh boy! Are you going to share your daily projects with us? Hopefully you'll provide some inspiration that I sorely need. DH recently bought a bunch of page protectors off Amazon. I really don't have any reason not to organize my printed out recipes anymore. Maybe I'll even find my misplaced Iris Soda Bread recipe!

  2. Hi Marsha :)) Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while, I've been swamped. I love how many recipes you have! I did the same thing last summer, I had about a binder full. I'm trying to keep most of my recipes online now, it's just so much easier for me. But I do love my cookbooks! Take care! xx

  3. Good for you! I so need to do that with my recipes! We are being rained on too and tomorrow they're predicting severe storms possibly. I just hope it's during the daytime.
I've been self-quaranteened for years so it is really no different than my normal routine. I would have corned beef and cabbage more often but you can't buy any other time of the year either unless you freeze a bunch which I would if I had room in my freezer! LOL! I hope your daughter finds a new job. I just subscribed to Acorn and love it and I have thought about Disney too or Britbox....one at a time I guess. I don't watch t.v. except in the evening and not for too long. I had never heard that prayer before, thank you!

  4. Ummm ! The mention of cornbread and cabbage has my mouth watering ! I am inspired by your daily projects. I bet if I dated to look there are potential projects waiting for me to give them attention. I love making washcloths.

  5. Glad to read your daughter wasn't too affected by the cancellation and has another interview lined up! That is some organizing. A long time ago, as a gift, my SIL gave me a nice binder with organized recipes in it.
