I'm Still Here

Im-still-here-big > Sourcing and Recruiting News

Did you miss me?  Oh my, I have missed 'talking' to all of you guys.  It has a been a little busy around here with my SIL visiting.  She will be leaving tomorrow to go and visit her high school friend and will be there for a few days.  Then she will travel to go see her son for a few days and then come back here.  She and my hubby are then going to head to Las Vegas to visit their mom.  Hubby will only be gone a few days and then drive back home.  SIL will be staying there for about a month.

There has been lots of chatting between us and it is so nice to just kick back and talk.  SIL also, as had a couple of Doctor appointments to get an infection taken care of.  She got sick just before she came here.  I was lucky to be able to get her into my Doctor's office right away and they started her on Antibiotics.  She is so much better now.  NO!!!!!!!!  It was not Covid related at all!!!!!!!!!!!!.

SIL is also learning to crochet and I am trying to help her with it.  She is working with a very bulky yarn (she thought it would be the easiest to work with) and it does not have a lot of give to it.  Even with all that, she is doing ok with it but has a lack of self confidence that she is doing it right.  I am sure that will come with time.

Today, hubby cleaned the rest of the house (he did half yesterday) and SIL and I hit the pool.  Our automatic fill was not working and we had tried quite a few things to fix it.  Today, I took out our toilet plunger and gave it a good 'plunge'.  Ta-Da!  It cleared the fill line and now the pool is filling the way it is supposed to.

After lunch me and my Cricut got reacquainted with each other.  Our Grand Daughter is having her bday in 3 weeks.  We are putting names on cups for her guests.  She is doing an 80's themed party all done in fluorescent colors.  We finally found the vinyl for the names to be done in.  She ordered the tumblers and they have arrived.  So, tomorrow, she is coming over and we will be getting the names done and cut out and put on the tumblers.  I tried a couple of the names today.

They turned out pretty good.

Now, I need to go and help SIL find a place for her to stay in the Las Vegas area.  They are having an elevation in Covid cases there too so she doesn't want to be at a casino hotel.  I think we are going to look for an AirBNB that rents by the month.  Wish me luck.

Until next time......................happy crafting & stay well!

  1. I missed you! But to be honest I don't have many interesting things to blog about lately....just working around the house or working on presents which I can't show until Sunday.
It's so nice that your SIL is visiting and that she gets to see everyone and spend time with you guys. What a gift to teach her crochet. I don't know what I would do without my handwork. It's the carrot that dangles in front of me to get my chores done so I can reward myself with some crafting! LOL!
Enjoy your time with family and those mugs are going to be so cute! What a great party she will have! You're a wonderful Grandmother!

  2. Those name labels look great! And what a good idea for a party! It sounds like you've had such a good time with your SIL. Looking forward to Sunday and seeing what you've been working on. I finally sat down and started crocheting just this evening - after a month of no crochet. It's a little weird. Hopefully, I'll have something to show on Sunday. ;^)

  3. I’m glad you are well, Arizona is making the headlines here in the UK as the current centre of the Covid outbreak, not just in the US but globally. So I am very surprised to hear about parties and visits. I hope you stay safe and are being careful. Xx
