YoP 34

Another week has passed.  Another death in my family too.  Oh man!  I am so over this year already.  Come on 2016!!!!  My step brother passed away on Wednesday this week.  He lives in Kansas (I live in Arizona) and his wife and daughters decided to have a quick funeral (3 days later) and to make it just a private affair.  So, needless to say, I didn't go to that.  Instead, I went to my Grand Daughter's teachers funeral yesterday.  It was a beautiful service with over 900 people there.  She was a much loved woman and will be missed.

In other personal news......................Our Daughter is getting married on Halloween this year.  She and her beau have chosen their venue and she is not sporting a really beautiful ring.  She has already picked her colors, attendants, helpers, the menu for the day, has the DJ, the person to make her cake, and the minister all lined up.  Now we need to get her measured so she can order her dress.  The dresses for the attendants have been picked out and they will be ordering those on their own.  Next weekend we will be going to pay for the flowers as she has already picked those out too.  Then it is on to designing and making her invitations and getting those mailed out.  Her future husband is a dream come true for her. She had been married before to a man that was not such a nice person.  This is really a wonderful thing for her this time and my husband and myself could not be happier for her.

Also, my #2 son and his wife will be having their marriage convalidated in the Church on April 11th of this year.  At least that is the plan right now.  My son has taken classes to join the church and has waited over 3 years for his previous marriage to be annulled (yes we are Catholic) so he could make this a sacramental marriage.  Their Daughter is so excited about this.  She is 9, and is all about fairy tale endings and this is a BIG one for her.  We are so proud of them.  This has not been an easy process for them, but they hung in there and we sent up a lot of prayers over the last 3+ years for this to become a reality.  So they have just a few weeks to decide how they want this ceremony to be.  What to wear.  Where to have the reception and all that good stuff.

So you see............................I have had 3 funeral and 2 weddings coming along this year.  Now you know why my crafting has suffered a bit.

So that brings me to crafting news.

I have completed my test knit.  Until the pattern is published, I am not allowed to post any photos of the finished item.  I am hoping it will be published soon.  I have the photos taken and I so excited as to how good the pattern turned out for me.

I have no other items that I completed or even worked on this week.  Between work, family crisis and dealing with grief from those around me, I just barely had time to complete the test knit.

Next week, I am looking forward to working more on my socks.  I would like to get them off the needles.  I don't think that will happen, but a girl can dream.  I have been requested to make another pair of bed socks for my mom and I think I might cast those on this week too. Other than that, I still have my CAL square that got sent out this week, to do, but that is really all that is on my list of to does this week.

I want to thank all of you that have been posting comments on my blog.  I read all of them, and have gained a lot of knowledge and courage from you.  I go back now and then and re-read them to remember what you have suggested and totally love that you all have such great advise and ideas.  Thank you all!

Now, lets take a look at THE LIST:
