YoP 33

Good afternoon all!  I hope all of you had a great week.  Mine was pretty good until last night.  Got a phone call about 10:30pm from my DIL letting me know that my Grand Daughter's teacher had passed away very unexpectedly.  I know...................this is #2 for me this month.  Seems the teacher had an adverse reaction to some post operative medication she received.  She was at home when it happened.  The children seem to be handling it better than the parents at this point.  But there will be counselors at school on Tuesday (Monday is a USA holiday) and they will have a day of reflection for them that day too.  Thankfully, the Grand Daughter attends a Catholic school and she has a wonderful faith, so death is not a totally scary thing for her.

But other than that bit of ugly news...........................I have wonderful news.  I have been having a great crafting week.

Lets take a look

This is Square #2 of my CAL.  I know it looks a bit wonky, but when it is joined with the other squares, that will work out pretty good.

Here is Square #3 of my CAL.  I am totally enjoying doing this and will probably look for more KAL or CAL in the future.

I now have both heels turned on my socks.  I am on the leg and will just knit away until it looks like the yarn is going to run out.  I am in love with the color.  Purple is my favorite color and I love all shades of it.

In fact, I ordered my new glasses today and got them in PURPLE!  I have one pair that is my daily wearing glasses and I have another pair for working on the computer.  I have been doing that for a few years now and love it.  I have decided not to continue with wearing contacts. I am hard to get a perfect sight with them since I am in bifocals and have been for years.  I have bifocal contacts, but each eye has different RX and it never is perfect.  So, I am going to be a four eye person from now on.

I have taken on a new project this week.  It is a test knit!!!  I finally found one that I could squeeze into my other projects and I am loving it.

Take a sneak peak:

The due date is February 21 and I should be able to make that deadline pretty easy.  I am almost half done and have only worked on it for the past 3 days.  I can not tell you what it is, yet or show you more than this little bit.  Once the pattern is released, I will post all about it.

So let's take a little look at the list

  1. That is a terribly sad thing to happen and especially after making it through the surgery....so sad.
You did have a great crafting week! I love your CAL squares and I wish I could partake but I have too many irons in the fire in other areas right now. Your purple socks are gorgeous and your test knit looks very interesting. I hope this next week is good for you too!

  5. So sad to hear about the teacher--but glad for your family's faith to help them through.

I sure love your socks! And two at a time? I aspire to accomplish that technique someday. Looking forward to seeing the test knit reveal, it looks like something I might like!

Good for you embracing the glasses..I cannot even imagine bifocal contacts--but really, I have never been able to imagine contacts-shoving something in my eye never appealed to me. Bifocals are my life now-but the close up part of them is the strongest and I just wear cheap store glasses for computer work as my bifocals are bad for the screen distance.
Hope the rest of your week was great!
